Phil Ivey poker player profile

Phil Ivey is a young poker player with a very aggressive style, yet a very charismatic personality. With over $8 million in tournament winnings to date, Ivey is considered one of the best poker players in the world.

Ivey claims big tournament winnings in the WSOP, WPT and EPT, as well as Full Tilt’s “Poker after dark” tournament series held in Spring 2007.

Ivey’s best year in terms of poker tournament winnings came in 2005 when he came 3 rd in the overall poker tournament money list after earning in excess of $3m that year thanks to victories in the Monte Carlo Millions and WSOP $5,000 pot limit Omaha event. 2005 also saw 2 final table finishes in WPT events, but Ivey is still yet to win a WPT event despite a number of close encounters.

Recently Ivey has been concentrating on his cash games at Full Tilt Poker where he can be found on an almost daily basis when not playing in a major land based poker circuit tournament. It is not unusual to see Ivey win in excess of $100,000 in a session on one of Full Tilt’s $500/$1000 blind no limit hold’em tables.
